Cooking Classes

Created with Sketch.

Visit a market and cook with a foodie

The chef

I got my cooking secrets and traditional French recipes from my grandmother, a genuine “cordon bleu” chef.

As a student, I worked in several famous French and Italian restaurants in Los Angeles to share my passion of food over the ocean.

But I quickly came back and now, to continue imparting my love and knowledge of French cuisine, I invite you and other guests to my place for a fun cooking class.

The cooking experience

This will be a fun, hands-on, and different food experience in the home of a French food buff.
We’ll start by raiding the local farmers’ market together, and I’ll guide you through the sights and smells as we shop for seasonal produce.
We will select together the very best offers of the season from the most discriminating producers.
We’ll then return to my home, and I’ll teach you how to cook fun recipes and turn the produce you like into superb dishes your friends will love you for. When we’re done cooking, we’ll begin to devour all of our food—and all of a sudden, it will turn into a party where we celebrate the joy of eating.
Far from the over-polished spoons at stuffy star-studded restaurants, this is a cooking class that opens its doors to all, for one of the most unique dining experiences you’ll find in Paris.
Unlike other French cooking lessons, this culinary class will treat you more like a fellow food-lover, rather than just another student with an apron and a chopping board.

The meeting point

I will greet you outside Metro Saint Mandé and take you shopping to the Saint-Mandé farmers’ market, one of the largest outdoor food markets in Paris offering the most spectacular range of fresh produce where you will meet my favorite suppliers.
It is across from our meeting point and steps away from the apartment where we will cook together and share our meal.
By the way my apartment has A/C!
Meeting point is: Subway Stop Saint Mandé on line 1 EXIT 1 at street level by the newsstand.
Street address is: 178 avenue Gallieni 94160 Saint Mandé

Bertrand-Philippe made us feel very welcomed in his apartment! The food we made are amazingly tasty and he focused on the process of making simple but great food so you can replicate when you go back home!

My husband and I had such an amazing time from the moment we met up, and it lasted the entire day. We laughed, we drank, we ate, we learned, we drank some more and laughed even more. Shopping in the market was a fun way to learn more about Paris and an ice breaker with our group. The dishes we prepared were easy to follow, flavorful, unique, and very tasty. I definitely see myself making them at home. But the experience overall was highlighted with the energy and enthusiasm of Bertrand-Philippe. Sitting around feeling like I've known everyone for years, learning so much from french history, art, culture and so much more. He is a talented chef and the perfect host. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Bertrand-Philippe is probably Top 3 people you’d want to hang out with before you die. The experience was a lot of fun and we could’ve spent all day with him if we didn’t have a train to catch. The market is convenient and everyone clearly loves him there. He knows his stuff about food and could make a discussion about paint drying very interesting. The food we made made you feel good, and it tasted good too. 10/10 would recommend.

This was such a wonderful highlight of our week in Paris. We loved the chance to meet Bertrand, learn from him, and enjoy a high quality meal together. We brought our 7, 10 and 11 yo kids, and he did a fantastic job of including each of them to just the right degree. We loved visiting the local farmers market. It was the most amazing place with fish, fruits, vegetables, bread, flowers, cheese, anything you imagine at a Paris neighborhood market. His place is lovely. He is good company. And it was by a long shot the best meal we had in Paris, which we helped prepare under his guidance. We learned key lesson about French cooking, so we take this experience with us for years to come.
