Paris will always be Paris
Already! Another fashion week in Paris. It seems time flies by and that the summer started last week. Yes, the fashionistas from all over the world are again gathering in Paris for another fashion mass. Runway shows in the hotels around the Tuileries, some also taking place in the tents built here and there in the gardens, Anna Wintour and her body guards rushing from one to the other with her symbolic sun glasses, Paris will always be Paris.
It’s true we don’t mess when it gets fashion as we don’t mess with food in France and any season brings new designers, new trends and new looks. But we also consider fashion as heritage, a National Heirloom and Paris counts 2 fashion museums: one is the fashion and costume department of the Louvre, the other, hosted in Palais Galliera, belongs to the city.
Palais Galliera reopens this week after a 4 years renovation and presents the retrospective of one of the most revered fashion designer: Azzedine Alaïa.
Since the 1980’s, stars and other fashionistas have cherished his sexy dresses, his ability in the cut, the architecture of his suits and his love for the feminin body. The exhibition is THE event of the fashion week!
If you didn’t get a chance to see the little black dress exhibit that just closed, you get another great chance, until January 26th,2014, to approach what makes Paris the capital of style. Uncross your legs!
