La Grande Epicerie

One of the most recurring question my guests ask me as they are enjoying a fun cooking session with me is where to get all the secret ingredients we use to accommodate the fresh produce we get from my local farmers market. Well let’s share the secret with all of you: one of my favorite grocery store is La Grande Epicerie. On the rear of Bon Marché, the oldest department store in the world is a food and grocery department where you can find one of the finest selection of ingredients, spices, olive oils, salts and other little things that turn a simple dish into cuisine. Sometime it takes very little to upgrade from casual to exceptional! A pinch of summer truffle salt, a splash of genuine balsamic vinager from Modena, a drop of Tuscany olive oil and there you end up with a gourmet plate rather than feeding your friends! Teas, chocolates, chutneys and preserves, spices and honeys, goodies from all over the world, england to Italy, India to the Middle East, gathered for you.
Fresh food and a fantastic wine cellar are also available proving that this gourmet supermarket is nothing like your ordinary food retail place. A must for over 160 years in the heart of the left bank and a feast for the eyes! The display is exquisit, the quality reflects the high standards of Bon Marché ever since it has been under control of the LVMH group, the first luxury goods group in the world. The Couture of grocery stores in Paris.
